Natchitoches Parish Sheriff Victor Jones was recently inducted into the Louisiana Justice Hall of Fame at the Louisiana State Penitentiary Museum.
He was subsequently charged with first-degree murder.

TAPE PROGRAM OFFERED BY COUNSELING CENTER A special service of the Counseling Center this summer is the cassette tape program.This award is for the men and women of Louisiana who serve their community and state in the honorable profession of law enforcement, judiciary, and related fields including governmental service, corrections, education, communications/media, victim services, volunteers, sponsors and community activists.Each year, the Louisiana State Penitentiary Museum reviews more than 100 nominations and selects a few highly distinguished individuals to receive the honor.The project officially began October 2008 based on the Family Justice Center Coordinated Community Response model and continues to resonate in the lives of our citizens today. This program supports projects designed to address and prevent domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking in rural jurisdictions.The project is being conducted by partner agencies in these parishes on the front lines of addressing domestic violence (see list below). The funding will pay for victim and prevention services on site in each parish as well as the many print materials to be distributed and the public awareness campaigns to be run in each parish.
