Yes, Benzer has a real MD degree as well, but when you’re the author of “The Tao of Dating: The Smart Woman’s Guide to Embracing Your Inner Goddess & Finding the Fulfillment You Deserve”, and “The Tao of Dating: The Thinking Man's Enlightened Guide to Success with Women,” a reality-based approach to reality has been left pretty far behind.
He has also called Michael Bernard Beckwith “a spiritual teacher of our times”. (Ok, the neurolinguistic programming had probably already nailed that coffin pretty firmly shut already.) Here are Benzer’s absolutely nonsensical points about how traveling in Europe can be therapy, one of which is how entering a country with another currency makes you develop your empathy with the poor since you are literally penniless until you find an ATM.
At the beginning of 2016, I decided to devote more time to my favorite activity: reading.
I set myself a rough target of two books a week, and got through about 110 of them (32,000 pages, according to my Goodreads profile). : These books aren’t necessarily the most fun to get through, but they’re talking about something super important that is probably affecting your life right now, e.g.
At the same time, nothing has influenced my life quite as much as the principles of Taoist philosophy and Eastern wisdom.
I'm absolutely convinced that they help you become a happier, calmer, more empowered and more fulfilled human being.
Even the Bible has something to say about that: "For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken away even that which he hath." Seems kind of mean, but it's just the way of the world: wealth begets wealth. Because even if only one thousandth of one percent of the 6.5 billion people in this world are cool enough to be eligible for your companionship, that's, oh, 65,000 folks. To be able to take care of anyone else, you need to take care of you first. As a man, if you take on too much yin, you risk turning into an indecisive wimp, which is not necessarily appealing to women.
So even if you don't have a companion, act as if there is an unlimited supply of what you want available to you already. That's enough dates to tide you over for a whole month. Simple, totally non-negotiable, and often neglected. 'Interest' means that you're signing up for your fulfillment and joy, not your pain. Having an open heart is great; just remember to keep your spine also.

Problem was, I was experiencing a bit of an idea slump myself. That's going to be one of the themes of this article, as you'll see. And before you know it, you're deep in some hole that you didn't know existed. Everything we do in life is subject to the laws of probability.
I promised to post an article on how to get out of a slump. The structure goes something like this: You experience a setback. This affects your beliefs and attitudes, which actually affects your performance, making more likely -- you guessed it -- another setback.
